Civil engineering shapes the roads, buildings, water systems and public works that hold a growing country together. SKIT started the B.Tech. civil engineering programme in 2011-12 and now also runs M.Tech. programmes in Transportation Engineering and Structural Engineering. The department offers consultancy to government departments, private organizations and society, and its laboratories carry the latest equipment the curriculum and research call for.

ICI, IGBC and survey camps
The civil engineering department runs student chapters of the Indian Concrete Institute and the Indian Green Building Council, takes every batch on a survey camp, and hosts the Standards Club with the Bureau of Indian Standards.
