The Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities is the foundation of the engineering programme, building the first understanding of the profession through English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Environmental Sciences. It offers bridge courses in Chemistry, English, Mathematics and Physics, coordinates the move from the 10+2 classroom to undergraduate study, and works through four units along broad disciplinary lines: Chemistry, English, Mathematics and Physics.
